Reducing CO2 Emissions in Our Concrete Production
We’ve made big changes to cut down the amount of CO2 our concrete creates. Traditional concrete production generates lots of CO2 emissions, but we use special low-carbon mixes that can reduce CO2 by up to 30%. We add recycled materials like fly ash to our concrete, which means we need less cement – the main source of CO2 emissions in building materials. This approach to concrete sustainability helps protect the environment without compromising quality.
Our modern equipment uses less energy and creates less waste. We source construction material from local suppliers when possible, which cuts down on transport CO2 emissions. We also use precise mixing technology that reduces waste and ensures we get the right amount every time. This means less environmental impact and better quality building materials for your project.
We track the amount of CO2 we produce and set targets to reduce it each year. Our goal is to offer sustainable building materials that perform just as well as traditional concrete but with much lower environmental impact. Concrete sustainability drives every decision we make in our production process.

DIY enthusiast or just need a small amount? Our 25-30 kg bags are perfect for smaller projects. They’re manageable, stackable, and mean you won’t be left with piles of unused aggregate cluttering up your garden for months.
Sustainable Practices
Smart Waste Management and Recycling
We believe good building materials shouldn’t create unnecessary waste. Our recycling programs turn waste into useful construction material again, which is a key part of concrete sustainability. When concrete gets returned from job sites, we crush it up and turn it into recycled aggregates that work great for new projects.
Our wash-out systems capture and clean all the water we use, so we can use it again instead of wasting it. This reduces our environmental impact and keeps harmful materials out of local waterways. We also help customers recycle their construction waste through our grab hire services.
By keeping materials in use instead of sending them to landfill, we reduce CO2 emissions and help create a cleaner built environment. Every tonne of material we recycle means less environmental impact from making new building materials, supporting our concrete sustainability goals.

Frequently Asked Questions
We work closely with universities and research groups to develop new low-carbon concrete recipes and improved recycling methods. Our goal is to continuously reduce the amount of CO2 our construction materials produce whilst ensuring they perform perfectly for building projects. We use smart technology to plan delivery routes more efficiently, cutting fuel use and CO2 emissions. Our digital systems help us waste less material and use resources more effectively across all operations, supporting concrete sustainability through innovation.
Yes, we actively share what we learn about concrete sustainability with customers and other companies in the construction industry. We believe that teaching others about sustainable building materials and how to reduce environmental impact helps create a better built environment for everyone in Cambridgeshire and beyond. Concrete sustainability works best when the whole industry gets involved, so we participate in industry forums and provide guidance to help advance eco-friendly practices throughout the sector.
We carefully select suppliers who demonstrate strong environmental credentials and use responsible practices with low environmental impact. We work with local quarries and construction material suppliers who restore land after quarrying and protect local wildlife. Many of our suppliers convert old quarries into nature reserves or community spaces, improving the built environment for everyone. We regularly assess our suppliers' environmental policies and sustainability certifications to ensure they align with our concrete sustainability goals.
We use modern, energy-efficient equipment that creates less waste and reduces CO2 emissions during production. Our precise mixing technology ensures we get the right amount every time, reducing waste and environmental impact. Digital route planning systems help our delivery fleet operate more efficiently, cutting fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. We also use automated batching systems and water recycling technology to optimise resource usage across all our operations.
